SCS Sport Karate Health Alert! IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ!
January 29, 2009 by Ms.Crissi.
Dear Parents,
We have just been informed by a parent that their child recently had headlice. They informed us immediately and asked us to share it with our students and their families.
Please check your children. Here is a link to some useful information about headlice. http://health.yahoo.com/children-overview/lice-topic-overview/healthwise–hw51116.html
Please be advised that this is not a hygiene issue, however it is transmitted by close contact, which does happen occasionally in the dojo! ;-)
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Osu,
Ms. Crissi

Plan your Work Work your Plan!
By Kyoshi Steve LaVallee
As Champions in Training, we’ve all decided to make this our best year ever. The best Black Belt Champions strive to expand their skills, improve their conditioning and become better at every aspect of their Martial Arts and life.
Besides higher levels of health and fitness… we also want success and achievement in all other areas of our lives.
Martial Arts teaches us to become balanced achievers.
Mentally…physically…emotionally… financially… career…and most important, stronger relationships with our family and friends.
It’s been said that if you want to predict the future, you must create it. This is why it is a worthy investment of time to design your Massive Action Plan (M.A.P.) for Success in 2009 and beyond.
Plan your Work – Work your Plan is all about designing an action plan for each day, each week and the months that lie ahead. It’s like creating a roadmap to a pre-determined destination.
Take the time to create a Massive Action Plan and you’ll be joining the ranks of the Top 5% Elite Achievers Club.
Proper Planning and Preparation Promotes Peak Performance.
This great quote says it all and is a simple reminder to all of us. Take the time each day to properly prepare yourself, mentally, physically and emotionally for a successful day of achievement.

We do our very best to make sure you have all the information you need. Of course, you may ask questions, but please be aware that there is usually not someone available to answer the phone during classes, so if you are calling to see when your class is, your best bet is to find a computer and check the website if you don’t have your schedule in front of you. You should also cross reference the calendar with the class schedule, and read these e-mails. Thank you for your cooperation.
Kyoshi’s Message:

S.M.A.R.T. Goal-setting=>Successful Achievement!
Specific Measurable Attainable Realistic Time-Dated
Most people avoid setting goals simply because they have never learned how to do it right…
others have a fear of failure… some people just procrastinate and never take much action toward a better future.
In the martial arts, we learn very early about the value of goal setting. A simple starting point is to apply the S.M.A.R.T. method of determining your desired objectives. The first step is to set a specific goal that is present, positive and personal:
“I am a flexible, lean and fit Black Belt Champion…
Everyday in everyway I get better and better…
I lead by example with the energy for excellence!”
For some, this would be a “Truth in Advance” goal or statement. For others, it is exactly what they are and the way they live their lives.
Very few goals are unrealistic, however, some people have unrealistic timelines. You aren’t likely to earn a college degree in six months and you will not become a Black Belt Champion in that time either.
This is why you work to set S.M.A.R.T. goals for yourself and allow some flexibility
in your target dates. Done properly, goal setting leads to goal getting and that is exciting and positive for everyone.
