For those of you planning to attend the tournament in Dothan tomorrow, we will be leaving the dojo at 5:30 am sharp. 

 I am also attaching the information sheet for those of you who are planning to go but didn’t get one.

DOTHAN PEANUT FESTIVAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

Here is some important information if you are going to the tournament.

Where:                     Dothan Civic Center, 126 N Saint Andrews St., Dothan, Alabama 36303

Directions:    East on Interstate 10 traveling through Florida until U.S. 231 North.  Turn left on U.S. 231 and continue North entering Alabama.  At Ross Clark Circle, U.S. 231 turns into U.S. 231 Bus continue North until Main Street (U.S. 84) turn right on Main Street continue two blocks until Saint Andrews Street and turn left.  The Civic Center is located on the right.

Leaving Time:            Meet at SCS Sport Karate at 5:00 am we will leave at 5:30 sharp!

What to Bring:

•  Your Uniform and Belt
• Money for Lunch and Snacks
•  Money for Souvenirs if wanted (a T-Shirt is about $20)
• RED Sparring Gear for Purple Belts and Above What to Prepare Yourself For:

• Practice.  Practice.  Practice.  Be strong, powerful and loud.  
• Speed is not important.  Slow down and have good technique and form.
•  Prepare for your introduction.
•                                                               “Judges, my name is _____________________.  I represent SCS Sport Karate.  My style is Kenpo.  My Kata is ________________________.  With your permission, I will begin.
• Don’t forget to bow and be respectful, especially of high ranks.
• Everyone is human.  Judges sometimes make errors.  Say, “Yes, sir.” or “Yes, Ma’am.”  Please do not argue with the judges.
•   If you make a mistake, don’t worry about it.   If you keep going strong, it’s not likely that anyone will notice!
•  If you are not going with your child, please remind them of staying with the group and using manners.
