Make 2008 your Best Year for Health-Wealth-Happiness!
——————————————————————————————————————————————————-
“Before everything else, getting ready is the real secret to success.” — Henry Ford
——————————————————————————————————————————————————
Get ready…get set…Go!!!
The New Year is upon us and it’s time to be Great for 2008!
Did you know that most people that set New Years resolutions fail to ever follow through
and actually do what they said they were going to do? Why is this?
There are many reasons, far too many to list in this article. However, studies show that one of the biggest is they never really decide exactly what they want. Unfortunately, most people tend to focus on what they don’t want or what they are going to give up.
“I am going to quit smoking!” -or- “I am going to lose weight and start exercising more!”
Neither of these statements has the clarity or enough purpose to propel anyone toward the directions of an exciting and worthwhile goal.
Another big one is that most people never take the time to write down their wishes and dreams for a better future. You’ve probably have heard the quote…If you want to predict the future, you must create it.
The moment you write down your dreams and wishes, you are beginning to build the bridge between wishful thinking and the actual attainment of your goal.
This is why you were encouraged to complete your Year End Kaizen Report.
Starting with your Victory List 2007.
Next was drafting your Wishlist and Goals for 2008.
Final step was designing your 90 Day MAP=>
Massive Action Plan for the 1st 90 Days of the New Year.
Too many people pray, hope and dream for success to happen without doing any real planning or preparation. I believe in prayer and hope, along with dreaming and wishing.
However, I wouldn’t be building the future Home of Martial Arts University International without a pre-approved set of plans and blueprints for every inch of that facility.
The same holds true for building a successful business and/or building a great Black Belt.
Author, and goal setting expert, Gary Ryan Blair (www.GoalsGuy.com) says;
The game of life is won behind the scenes, in time spent on preparation. Time invested in strategy and planning is an ounce of prevention compared to the pounds of frustration and stress that come from having to go back and correct faulty assumptions. Rather than focusing on how much time it takes to set goals, think about how much time it will take you to correct mistakes that come from the lack of planning.
Success in the Martial Arts is no different than success in any area of life. It requires clarity, deliberate decisions, well planned actions and focused effort, along with enormous amount of PIGHEADED DISCIPLINE, DETERMINATION and DRIVE.
All the great Masters that I know in the Martial Arts, that are truly making a difference, invest their time wisely time into creating dynamic class plans and they give plenty of thought to the curriculum and skills they want to share with their students.
The true influence of any leader and teacher is seen in the quality, quantity and spirit of his or her followers. It all begins with developing a clear picture of where you want to be in the future. As Steven Covey reminds us….Begin with the end in Mind!
If you would like to join me in making 2008 your best year ever for health, wealth and happiness, then please take a few minutes to update your Wishlist/Goals for the New Year.
Resolve to be healthy, wealthy, happy and fit, with a fighting spirit that will never quit.
The first few weeks of the New Year will be dedicated to the Goal Setting process and some of the best practices that have lead to outstanding success and achievement for millions of highly successful people throughout the world.
Let’s team up and never give up on making the New Year our best ever for health, wealth and happiness. Prepare to be Great in 2008.
Train Hard…Work Hard…Enjoy the Rewards of your Success.
Happy New Year!

Kyoshi

We definitely had the most participation in the entire parade! We look forward to next year when we can do it all again! We did need about twice as many throws, so save those Mardi Gras Beads! We’ll begin collecting early for next year’s parade!

Be sure to cheer on your teammates as they climb the ladder towards Black Belt! Goals we set are goals we get! ASAH! Candidates, be sure to get in your Promotion Form no later than next Tuesday, December 11!

- Demo Team! Practice is this Friday, December 7 at 5:00 pm at SCS. Please arrive on time so that we can get to work on making this the best demo ever!
